Samsung Plans to Launch Its Tri-Fold Smartphone in 2025
After the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate was released last September, South Korean technology firm Samsung is allegedly preparing its very first tri-fold smartphone in late 2025.
According to reports coming out of Korea, Samsung plans to make only fewer than 300,000 units for the initial production run. The reason behind this limited supply is the intricate manufacturing process that goes into creating such advanced devices. However, if the demand is good, Samsung might increase the production volume in the future.
The upcoming tri-fold smartphone is expected to come with the highest price tag ever for a Samsung foldable device. Unlike Huawei’s Mate XT, which leaves part of the screen exposed when folded, Samsung’s design will fully protect the display when not in use, enhancing durability—one of the major challenges with foldable technology.
Display Features and Size:
The folding mechanism of the phone will provide diverse display options. Unfolding the screen to the left will provide a 10.5-inch display, while further extending it to the right will create a 12.4-inch screen, providing a tablet-like viewing experience.
Samsung Display will also provide the panels for this fantastic device. Because of its outstanding design, its integration will also be flawless, but it doesn't seem like it will contain an under-screen camera, to sacrifice some extra functionalities for better reliability and structural reliability.
What's Ahead:
No official release date has been announced, but the news comes from leaks and insider information. More details might surface when Samsung unveils its Z-series foldables later this year.
