Anticipated for integration into Apple products scheduled for release in 2025 or beyond, this enhanced battery reportedly employs a different cathode material, leaning towards increased silicon usage over graphite. This shift is expected to bolster the battery's capacity and expedite charging times. Challenges, such as silicon expansion during charging—a common issue faced by other manufacturers—are said to have been addressed by Apple.
