Alert! Microsoft Discontinuing Support for Windows 10, Posing a Disposal Threat to Over 24 Crore PCs.

 

Canalys Research warns that around 240 million computers may be discarded as Microsoft concludes support for Windows 10. This could result in a significant surge in electronic waste, weighing in at approximately 480 million kilograms, akin to 320,000 cars. Even if some of these computers remain functional, their appeal could dwindle due to the absence of security updates.

While Microsoft plans to provide security updates for a fee until October 2028, the potential high cost of transitioning to Windows 11 might lead to the disposal of older computers. Microsoft is implementing this shift to introduce Windows 11, featuring more advanced AI technology.
