"Karachi Airport smuggling, iPhone 15 Pro Max, Dubai route crackdown."

Last Sunday, Pakistan Customs at Karachi's Jinnah International Airport successfully foiled a smuggling attempt, preventing the illegal transport of 23 units of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, valued at an astonishing Rs. 9.2 million.

Mr. Syed Irfan Ali, the Customs spokesperson, provided details of the operation. Customs officers at the International Arrival Lounge intercepted a female traveler arriving in Karachi from Sharjah via Air Arabia flight G9-542. The woman, initially passing through the green channel, raised suspicions, leading to a comprehensive inquiry about her luggage. Unsatisfied with her responses, customs officials initiated a thorough inspection, revealing concealed empty boxes within her bags containing mobile phones and graphics cards. Recognizing the severity of the situation, Customs personnel promptly transferred her belongings to the examination counter.

A more extensive search exposed a shocking discovery: 23 iPhone 15 Pro Max units securely fastened to her person. The combined value of these devices reached an astonishing Rs. 9.2 million, and with the required duty tax of Rs. 4.3 million factored in, the implications became even more significant.

Upon uncovering these details, Ali revealed that the woman had been captured, and the mobile phones were seized as evidence.

Noticing a surge in the trafficking of mobile phones through the Dubai air route, the government of Pakistan and the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) have observed the situation. Subsequently, officials have pinpointed several individuals participating in these unlawful activities and have commenced a thorough crackdown against them.
