Mass production of the Xiaomi SU7 Electric Car starts this month.
Reportedly, Xiaomi's SU7 is set to commence mass production in mid to late February, as per media sources in China.
Due to potential disruptions from the Chinese New Year festival, the mass production of Xiaomi's SU7 is anticipated to begin after the holiday break, which ends on February 19.
Initial reports suggest that Xiaomi plans to manufacture around 2,000 units of its inaugural electric car in March, with production capacity expected to steadily increase to 10,000 units by July. The company aims to sustain this level beyond July, with mass production set to be followed by initial deliveries.
However, specific timelines for these developments remain undisclosed. Reports hint that the SU7 Max could be priced at approximately $50,950.
Recall that Xiaomi unveiled its highly anticipated electric vehicle, the SU7, in late December of the previous year. During the launch event in Beijing, China, the company's founder and CEO, Lei Jun, introduced the vehicle to the public, expressing ambitions for Xiaomi to rank among the world's top 5 automakers within the next 15 to 20 years. Lei Jun emphasized Xiaomi's aspiration to create a dream car on par with brands like Porsche and Tesla.
