Nvidia Unveils AI Chip with 30-Fold Speed Increase, Claiming World's Highest Performance
Nvidia's H100 AI chip has propelled the company into significant growth, potentially surpassing even tech giants like Alphabet and Amazon, valued in trillions of dollars. This success has spurred other companies to hasten their efforts to keep pace. However, Nvidia's trajectory may further ascend with the introduction of its new Blackwell B200 GPU and GB200 "super chip."
The B200 GPU boasts substantial capabilities, handling up to 20 petaflops, a remarkable feat attributed to its 208 billion transistors. Nvidia claims that the GB200, featuring two GPUs and a specialized Grace CPU, can achieve even greater computational power, particularly excelling in certain tasks with a purported 30-fold increase.
Nvidia asserts that these advancements could lead to significant cost reductions and energy savings, potentially up to 25 times less than previous solutions. However, pricing details remain undisclosed at present. Nvidia's CEO hinted at potential costs, suggesting each GPU could range between $30,000 and $40,000.
